MSAA provides outreach to 3,000 people at Black Women’s Expo 2018

MSAA hosted a stroke community education booth and the Black Women’s Expo at McCormick Place on April 6th-April 8th. Our message reached a lot of people. We handed out 1600 magnets, 1600 pact cards, 280 Koozies, 150 water bottles, 300 MI/Stroke assessment tool, 200 Women and Stroke handouts, and collected 461 signatures of people who promised to call 911 when they witness someone having a stroke. It’s estimated that we touched 3000 lives. An added bonus, WV103 was broadcasting live from the Expo and one of the DJ’s invited Dinene Jenkins-West, MSAA member and organizer of our group at the expo, to speak about stroke. Overall it was an awesome day of community outreach!

MSAA FUNDRAISING EVENT – AHA CYCLE NATION

Cycling to save lives!
Together, let’s start a health revolution!

MSAA is participating in the American Heart Association’s CycleNation Event. Join us at Daley Plaza on June 13 and help us ignite a health revolution in our community that will create awareness for stroke and heart disease. The Ride is from 3:30-5:30 and there is a Post Ride Celebration from 5:45-7:00pm.

We have a $2,000 fundraising goal, let’s see if we can surpass it!

Friends, stroke and heart disease have claimed far too many of us. Almost every one of us knows someone who has been affected. Now is our chance to make a difference! 100% of the funds we raise through CycleNation will go to the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association — bringing groundbreaking research, helping people live healthier, and saving lives! CycleNation Indoor is going to be high-energy, fun — and we’re looking forward to you joining us! Join our team or support us through donation. Let’s celebrate our power to overcome stroke and heart disease!
